Attention Student Council members - there will be an optional meeting in Ms. Ney’s room on Wednesday after school from 2:40-3:15 to create posters and to take inventory of our winter dance supplies. If you are able, please attend this meeting.

We are honored to host Dancers Against Cancer through Alex’s Lemonade Stand!  Please join the Simley Dance Team at our home Invitational on Saturday, January 27th, from 10 am to 5 pm as we support this wonderful fundraising opportunity and honor local cancer fighters Joelle & Payton.  Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation donates its proceeds to help change the lives of children who are fighting childhood cancers through research, raising awareness and supporting families.  We are so excited to announce that Eva Igo (runner up on the World of Dance Competition and one of our hometown favorite dancers) will be at our booth for a meet and greet from 4-4:45 pm offering pictures and autographs for a donation of $5 (all the proceeds go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand).  If we reach our goal of at least $1,500 on Saturday she will perform one of her dances for us!  Hope to see you there!

Attention Parents - If you are calling in to report an absence and would like to go directly to the Attendance line, please call 651-306-7010.

February is Black History Month, which is about coming together as a community to remember and celebrate black history.  This year, Simley will be hosting the Sounds of Color, where students of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate black history through music. The Sounds of Color event will take place on Thursday, February 15th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the PAC. We encourage you to be a part of this celebration.

Simley Trap Team – The Spring 2018 trap season will be starting in April and the team is looking for 1 or 2 student managers to help with our weekly activities. The help is needed on Monday afternoons from 3:00 to 6:00 pm or Saturday morning from 8:00 – 10:30 am. Our primary need is on Monday afternoons. We are interested in a student who is comfortable managing the athletes with the daily sign-in process and keeping our schedule on track. The schedule will begin on April 2 and goes through Saturday May 27. Student managers will need a way to get to and from the So. St Paul Gun Club where our home fields are. The volunteers do not have to be a team member to be a part of the Trap Team. If you have interest or know someone who might, please e-mail our team e-mail and provide a method to contact you. We would like to have someone in place by March 1st. Go Spartans!

Seniors: Reminder that there is a $45 grad fee that is due March 23. The payment can be made through Feepay. If you have any questions, see Ms. Sievert in the main office.
