School Start Time Community Meeting TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 15

During the 2016-2017 school year, the School Start/End Time Review Committee determined that more conversation was needed about changing school start and end times at the elementary and secondary levels. The committee reconvened in February to find out more about the impact of school start and end time changes on elementary students, transportation, and activities and athletics. ISD 199 community members are invited to learn more about the start time conversation at a community meeting on May 15 at 5:30 PM in the Simley High School Spartan Center. Congratulations to Softball team for their 5-2 win over South St. Paul last night. The team goes to North High School tomorrow for their last regular game of the season.

TONIGHT - Please join us for the last  theatre booster meeting of the 2017-2018 school year this Tuesday, May 15th at 6:30pm in the Simley IMC.   We will be discussing feedback from the spring musical, the theatre banquet and a new fundraising opportunity.

Congratulations to Adapted Bowlers Dallas Filek, Thomas Juneau, Brianna Richter and Emily Rettinger who qualified for state in PI, for both Singles and Doubles!  Also, Jennifer Alatriste who qualified for state in CI Singles! The Adapted State Bowling Tournament will be on Friday, May 18th at Bowlero in Brooklyn Park. Good luck to the Simley Bowlers!!

Good luck to the Boys Tennis team as they begin section play today at Eagan High School.

A reminder for students interested in PSEO for the 2018 - 2019 school year.  You must meet with your counselor PRIOR to May 30th to discuss the PSEO process.  

The Maintenance Department is hiring seasonal summer workers to perform custodial and grounds duties District wide. It is a Monday-Friday position. The pay is $11 per hour. If you interested or have questions, apply online or talk to Chuck Wick in the high school during the day.

ALL Students: Reminder that only students with parking passes are allowed to park in the lots. If you do not have a pass, you cannot park on school grounds.




Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 11 through August 10

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

    7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

    8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

    9:15 A.M. -10:15 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

   10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Registration is now open on Feepay. Informational flyers are available in the Activities office. Contact Will Short at if you have questions.

Attention Seniors:  Each of you must complete a graduation survey.  A link to the survey can be found on Simley's homepage.  The survey allows us to track your post-high school plans as well as authorizes the release of your final transcript.  Please complete this as soon as possible. Final deadline is Friday, May 18.

Attention Current 9th-11th  Graders - The Simley High School Girls Basketball staff is organizing several Summer opportunities to improve your skills. Registration forms are available in the Activities office or online at



PARENTS: In order for the Simley All Night party to run smoothly, or at all, WE NEED YOU!  Please visit the Senior All Night Party Volunteer sign up genius account to pick your volunteer activity:

Volunteers will be needed for set up on Thursday, June 7 with shifts starting at 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., as well as the night of the event, Friday, June 8 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Senior Parents/Guardians: Newsletter correction ~ The address to mail payments to purchase a ticket for the Senior All Night Party is 3042 96th Street E. If you did not receive a newsletter, they are available in the high school main office or guidance office.

Seniors - Your Senior Grad Fee is due!   Payments can be made on Fee Pay or in person to Ms. Sievert in the Main Office.

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
