Students-today is the LAST Day to park in the student lot without a permit. All cars must have a parking permit starting next Monday, Sept. 17. Students are only allowed to park in the student lot, unless otherwise directed. No exceptions. If you submitted a parking application and haven’t talked to Ms. Sievert, see her in the main office today!

 

 

Attention seniors! TODAY is the deadline to turn in your senior shirt order form and money to Ms. Young-Dahl in the Dean’s office by Friday Sept. 14th. Make sure the name you select is school appropriate or your last name will be printed. Remember to fill-out the Google Form so the company can receive your information. If you have questions please see Mrs. Walsh or Ms. Young-Dahl.

 

 

The Maintenance Department is looking for student workers to work 3-4 hours per day after school 3 to 4 days per week. See Chuck Wick if you are interested.

 

 

 

Lifetouch will be at the Grove on Tuesday, Sept. 18 to take team & individual pictures for girls Swim & Dive.  Pictures may be pre-ordered at https://order.lifetouchsports.com/index.cfm?event=OrderHome&contractID=154481  Order forms are available in the Activities office.

There are also several valuable features available to parents/guardians/athletes on this website.

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be offered at Simley on Tuesday, September 25th at 8:00 AM. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program helps students discover their strengths and interests then map out post-secondary plans with comprehensive information for over 1,000 occupations! The exam is a requirement for those planning on joining any branch of the military but is open to any student in grade 10-12 who wants to learn more about their career options. See Ms. Kimble in the Student Center for more information and to sign-up!

 

 

 

Students who had their picture taken on Back-to School day can pick up their photos and/or ID's during all three lunches in Cahill Court TODAY, Friday, September 14.

 

 

 



The Girls Swim  Dive competed against a challenging Hastings Team and lost 81 - 96.  All 3 relays had seasonal best times at last night's meet.

Top Finishes:

Alaina Friske - 1st 100 Free & 2nd 50 Free

Sophia Fredeen = 1st 100 Backstroke & 2nd 200 I.M.

Sydney Bohn - 1st 500 Free & 2nd 200 Free

Jill Wilhelmson - 2nd 100 Breaststroke



Yesterday the Cross Country teams competed in the 49th Annual Rochester Mayo Invite.  Highlights include senior Sarah Anaya becoming the 3rd fastest 5k runner in school history with a time of 22:03 and junior Grant Dilla finishing 25th overall in a time of 17:43.  The Girls finished 21st, while the boys finished 22nd in the competition with over 1600 athletes competing.

The Cross Country team races next Thursday at the Pine Island invite.




Attention all students in grades 9-12!  Simley Soccer is hosting a Student Appreciation night on Monday, Sept. 17 during a double header where all students get into the game for FREE!  Boys kick off at 5 p.m. and Girls kick off at 7 p.m.  CANES Chicken will be sold at the concessions stand! Come cheer your Simley Soccer teams on and enjoy some Canes!!!



Simley Summer Lax Travel Team 2019  

Tryouts:  TOMORROW, Saturday, Sept. 15th, 3-4:30pm, Simley High School Practice Field(field by student parking lot)  Check-in starts at 2:15 p.m., players should be dressed in full gear and ready to go by 3 p.m.

All interested lacrosse players currently in grades 8-11 are welcome and encouraged to attend this FREE tryout event!

Senior Lunch Release - Seniors you must turn in your lunch release forms to Ms. Offermann prior to leaving the building. This is a privilege for seniors ONLY!

 

 

Attention student leaders in grades 9 through 12, we will be hosting a Student Council informational meeting on Tuesday, September 18 in the Student Center before school at 7:20 a.m. Student Council plans charity events, dances, and activities to build Simley pride. Come share your ideas and have a voice on how to make our school better.

FALL DRIVER EDUCATION SESSIONS STARTING SOON!

Class will begin Monday, September 24th and runs Monday-Thursday till October 10th (10 sessions) after school from 2:45-5:45 p.m.

ACT PREP COURSES

Get prepared for your ACT Test! This class provides an introduction to the ACT format, strategies for answering questions and instruction for the specific subject areas tested. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, and anxiety and time management. Students who complete a course may repeat it as often as they wish in future offerings – free of charge. All class materials are included in the tuition fee. Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
