Students - All cars must have a parking permit starting TODAY,  Monday, Sept. 17. Students are only allowed to park in the student lot, unless otherwise directed. No exceptions. If you submitted a parking application and haven’t talked to Ms. Sievert, see her in the main office today!

 

 

The Student Center is closed TODAY, Monday, September 17th.

 

 

Picture Make-Up Day is this Friday morning.  If you need a picture order form, they can be found in the main office. If you have not picked up your pictures from orientation day, they can be found in the Guidance Center.



Attention Seniors -  Friday was the deadline for turning in your senior shirt forms and money. If you missed the deadline, you need to go see Mrs. Walsh in Room EA208 or Ms. Young-Dahl in the Dean’s office.

 

 

The Maintenance Department is looking for student workers to work 3-4 hours per day after school 3 to 4 days per week. See Chuck Wick if you are interested.

 

 

If you are interested in joining Student Council, there is an informational meeting tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m. in the Student Center. Student Council helps plan activities and events throughout the year. Plus it looks great on college applications! ALL grades are welcome!

 


Lifetouch will be at the Grove on Tuesday, Sept. 18 to take team & individual pictures for girls Swim & Dive.  Pictures may be pre-ordered at https://order.lifetouchsports.com/index.cfm?event=OrderHome&contractID=154481  Order forms are available in the Activities office.

 

 

 

Please join us for the Simley Theatre booster meeting Tuesday Sept. 18 at 6:30 PM in the Simley IMC. All are welcome, and parents of kids involved in the fall play are encouraged to attend.

 

 

 

 

Dance Fundraiser?

You are invited to join the Simley Dance Team at DrKula's 32 Bowl this Saturday for their annual moonlight bowling fundraiser.  Silent auction items will be available. Contact your favorite dancer for tickets.

Simley Swim and Dive team Outback Fundraiser

You're invited to the Swim/Dive Team fundraiser, Saturday, September 29th, 2018 with two seatings: 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 am. Come and join us for a great meal, and meet the swimmers/divers and their awesome coaches.

Tickets are $17.00 each ($10 per ticket is tax deductible). Menu: Steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and a non-alcoholic beverage. This fundraising is to help raise money for uniforms, suits, equipment, etc. Your support is very much appreciated!

 

 


Attention all students in grades 9-12!  Simley Soccer is hosting a Student Appreciation night TONIGHT, Monday, Sept. 17 during a double header where all students get into the game for FREE!  Boys kick off at 5 p.m. and Girls kick off at 7 p.m.  CANES Chicken will be sold at the concessions stand! Come cheer your Simley Soccer teams on and enjoy some Canes!!!

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Career Center.

Iowa State University will be visiting on: Monday, September 24th @ 1:40 PM

St. Catherine’s University will be visiting on: Thursday, September 27th @ 9:30 AM

Winona State University will be visiting on: Friday, September 28th @ 8:00 AM

Senior Lunch Release - Seniors you must turn in your lunch release forms to Ms. Offermann prior to leaving the building. This is a privilege for seniors ONLY!

 

 

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be offered at Simley on Tuesday, September 25th at 8:00 AM. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program helps students discover their strengths and interests then map out post-secondary plans with comprehensive information for over 1,000 occupations! The exam is a requirement for those planning on joining any branch of the military but is open to any student in grade 10-12 who wants to learn more about their career options. See Ms. Kimble in the Student Center for more information and to sign-up!

All high school & middle school sports schedules are available at www.metroeastconference.org  - select Simley. The Metro East Conference website is the most accurate & up to date schedule available. There are also several valuable features available to parents/guardians/athletes on this website.

FALL DRIVER EDUCATION SESSIONS STARTING SOON!

Class will begin Monday, September 24th and runs Monday-Thursday till October 10th (10 sessions) after school from 2:45-5:45 p.m.

ACT PREP COURSES

Get prepared for your ACT Test! This class provides an introduction to the ACT format, strategies for answering questions and instruction for the specific subject areas tested. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, and anxiety and time management. Students who complete a course may repeat it as often as they wish in future offerings – free of charge. All class materials are included in the tuition fee. Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
