Homecoming Dress Up Days:

Friday - School Spirit Day


The Girls Varsity Tennis team defeated a tough Henry Sibley team yesterday 4-3. The Spartans got wins at 4 singles and swept all of the doubles matches. The girls improve to 14-6 on the year with a 6-0 conference record. They will play at Mahtomedi TODAY at 3:30 p.m. for the conference championship.


Attention Fall Athletes - You must have your Yellow Fall Athletic Pass to get in to the Homecoming game tomorrow.  Coaches have distributed them to their teams. See Mrs. Madigan on Friday if you have any questions.


Light Up Our Homecoming! Simley’s job training program is selling Simley Spartan light up bracelets during 5th hour high school lunches, or orders can be emailed to Ms. Sievert-Disanto at    The bracelets are $4 each or 2 for $7.


Simley Soccer has rescheduled this event and will host a Student Appreciation night on Monday October 1 during a double header where all Simley students get into the game for FREE.  Boys kick off at 5 pm and girls kick off at 7 pm.  The Seniors and their parents will also be recognized this night!  Raising Canes Chicken will be sold at the concessions stand!!! Come cheer your Simley Soccer teams on and enjoy some Canes!!  ALL middle school students MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian and will not be allowed to attend without one.

Simley Swim and Dive team Outback Fundraiser

You're invited to the Swim/Dive Team fundraiser, Saturday, September 29th, 2018 with two seatings: 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 am. Come and join us for a great meal, and meet the swimmers/divers and their awesome coaches.

Tickets are $17.00 each ($10 per ticket is tax deductible). Menu: Steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and a non-alcoholic beverage. This fundraising is to help raise money for uniforms, suits, equipment, etc. Your support is very much appreciated!


Upcoming College Visits:

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from the counseling office today (because the Student Center is closed)!

St. Catherine’s University will be visiting TODAY, Thursday, September 27th @ 9:30 AM.

Winona State University will be visiting on: Friday, September 28th @ 8:00 AM

A representative from Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officer’s Training Corps) at The University of St. Thomas will be here Wednesday, October 3rd at 11:45 AM

Attention SENIORS:

It's not too early to begin thinking about graduation.  Counselors will be meeting with all seniors over the next few months to discuss important information regarding your senior year so watch for a pass from your individual counselor.  If you visit the Simley webpage, there is a special link just for seniors, with important dates for the year as well as a link to order your cap/gown & diploma.  The deadline to order is December 3rd but we would appreciate you taking care of this as soon as possible.  

The Guidance office is looking for students from all grade levels that are interested in being an escort for new students at Simley. New student escorts will bring new students to and from their classes on their first day of school and show them around school.  Please fill out an application in the Guidance office.


Homecoming Dance Tickets will be sold during all lunches. Tickets are $10 in advance and will be $15 at the door. The attire for the dance is semi-formal. No shorts or t-shirts.

If you are planning to bring a guest from another school to the Homecoming Dance a contract must be signed by your guest’s school. The Guest dance contracts are available in the Guidance Office. Ms. Madigan will be selling guest tickets only after the application is complete and signed by Ms. Klukas. The deadline is Wednesday, September  26.



Get prepared for your ACT Test! This class provides an introduction to the ACT format, strategies for answering questions and instruction for the specific subject areas tested. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, and anxiety and time management. Students who complete a course may repeat it as often as they wish in future offerings – free of charge. All class materials are included in the tuition fee. Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
