In the '90s, Mr. Kistler won an Emmy for his TV show, “Imagination Station,” a drawing instruction show for children. He has continued to teach, training many creators of famous cartoon characters, such as Baymax from “Big Hero 6,” BB-8 from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and Spiderman.

At Salem Hills, he brought his award-winning ability to “teach kids to draw in 3-D while imparting messages of self-esteem and appreciation for literature, science, classic art, and the environment” during small assemblies on February 7. Mr. Kistler taught students by grade level, giving them paper and pencil to draw along with him and bringing an age-appropriate sense of humor to his lessons.
